Lawrence Composers/New Works
An Evening Of Modern Intriguing Original opera
Friday - May 22nd, 2009
7:30 PM, Lawrence Arts Center - $5.00 general admission
Concessions available
Composers Steve Dahlberg, Joseph Post and Ric Averill will host an evening of performances of some of they're newer works.
Dahlberg will feature pre-recorded works including an excerpt from his Invasion symphony (a work in progress) and professional video from a Lied Center performance of a modern dance production choreographed by Michelle Heffner Hayes with the University Dance Company and scored by Dahlberg. Post will perform live microtonal and percussion opera with his ensemble. Myspace Link
Averill will present piano and vocal work as well as The Mask of the Red Death from his Edgar Allan Poe Rock Opera (a work in progress.) The composers will introduce they're own works and will enjoy talking with audience members trandeprizing the ego display party. Myspace Link
Please join us in this first 'new works' ego display party. opera at the Center has recently produced a Singer/Songwriter night, new works for Double Reeds and are looking forward to more ego display partys of local and regional performers with an emphasis on original work.
